From Breakout to Breakthrough
By Sarah Shapiro
I first attended an Elite Coaching Boot Camp almost a year ago. I grew up watching my dad run his practice with solid systems in place. At the time I attended the Boot Camp, I had just started working for him to help out in his chiropractic office. His entire staff attended the seminar, and it was a fantastic team learning experience. A lot of what was taught can be applied to any role in a chiropractic office: doctor, rehab manager or Chiropractic Assistant. In fact, it can be applied to all aspects of life. It was invaluable to see all the intentions of each system in place in the office. Although it was all applicable and very important to learn, I felt that the Boot Camp was mainly directed towards the chiropractors.
Enter Hailey Jules. Although she has many talents and specialties, she is the #1 Chiropractic Assistant coach in the country! While the chiros remained in the main room, she engaged the support staff in multiple breakout sessions, focusing on the great importance of the chiropractic assistant role. I don’t think the Chiropractic Assistants understood the significance of their contributions until Hailey took the floor.
In one of her breakout sessions, she focused the group’s energy on the All-Important office tour, a new patient’s very first impression of chiropractic and your team. I remember her enthusiasm when talking about how positively focused the Chiropractic Assistants mindset and energy must be from the second they step in the door every morning, until they finish their work for the day. At first, I questioned why it was so important to have that level of energy. Why was this going to make or break the tour? I have come to realize that Chiropractic Assistants transfer their positive energy to the patients surrounding them. All patients deserve their states to be elevated when they are in your office, because it is likely that their chiropractic visit will be the best part of their day.
Before this Boot Camp, I believed chiropractic was just someone getting their spine adjusted. I understood what chiropractic was, but only on a surface level. Through Dr. Fred’s and Hailey’s coaching, I was exposed to a whole new level of what we really are delivering to the patient on each visit, and how important positive energy and communication with intention is. And that it is every team member’s job to deliver, every day.
After experiencing Hailey’s Chiropractic Assistant breakout training, my mindset shifted from thinking my job was answering the phone, to “I get the most incredible opportunity to be the best part of someone’s day. I get to be the first step to helping them having an outstanding quality of life.” This mindset shift changed how I value my role in the office, and how patients value me, and it is priceless.
Through Hailey’s coaching, Chiropractic Assistants are given the opportunity to learn invaluable skills that they can directly apply to their job, immediately upon their return, and as an added bonus, this training will also enhance their personal relationships as well. Chiropractic Assistant coaching is not an expense, but a true investment in the creation of a first-rate team that the doctors can rely upon and have confidence in so they can concentrate on what they do best!
